Sistaazhood is a community of trans women living on the streets of Cape Town. United by solidarity and the desire for visibility, the group offers its members a sense of belonging and support. The women are activists fighting for the rights of trans people and sex workers.

The portrait series by Bernese photographer Pascal Triponez, created in February 2025, features four members. The series offers a small, intimate glimpse into their lives between the struggle for survival and dignity and the quest for recognition, as they often remain invisible in everyday life.
