Yesterday, a celebration took place at the Photobastei in Zurich – a major celebration of photography:

The biennial SIYU in-house exhibition, SIYU f/2.6, was met with an overwhelming response; at times, it was impossible to get through the crowds on the second floor of the Photobastei, where the exhibition is being held.
Before each of the 35 works selected for this first edition, there were lively group discussions and in-depth exploration of the extremely diverse themes.

A wonderful, multilingual atmosphere prevailed from the set-up the day before right through to the end of the opening reception yesterday, Thursday evening.

Photographers from all sections are exhibiting high-quality works until 18 October: highly personal pieces alternate with humorous ones; incisive storytelling with landscape photography; images in colour and black and white, digital and analogue…

The intense years of the merger are over; now is the time to present ourselves in our ‘new SIYU guise’ and to prove to the public – as well as to the members of the sections – that photography is alive and brings joy, perhaps more than ever.

And so, whether you’re a SIYU member or simply interested in photography: this SIYU f/2.6 Festival of Photography is not to be missed!

On 4 October from 2 pm for a guided tour with the exhibitors, and on 18 October from 1 pm at the photography flea market followed by a get-together from 3 pm, some of the photographers will be present once again to talk about their work (further information at siyu-f.ch).

All 35 works can now be viewed online on the newly updated siyu-f.ch website.
